The Public Service Commission requires the Utility to change out inside water meters every 10 years. This ensures accurate meter reading and is done at no charge to the utility customer. The Utility tries to contact each customer by phone to set up appointments. Appointments are scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep up to date on meter change outs.
Appointments should take approximately 30 to 45 minutes to complete, as long as the valves above and below your meter are in proper working order.
When remodeling your basement or home, please remember to keep water meters accessible to the Water Utility. Do not box meters in walls or build shelving units around them. Should you need further information, contact the Utility at 262-796-6717.
