  4. Basic Computer Class

    March 6, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Brookfield Public Library

    Registration Required. This class is designed for those who have never used a computer before or have very limited experience. Learn/review mouse and keyboard skills and learn what computers are all about. It is RECOMMENDED that beginners attend the “Basic” class before attending any other classes.

    Twice a month, our librarians will teach you something about Internet resources or online databases on a particular topic. We will meet the first Saturday of the month at 10:00am and then in the evening during the week later in the month. Pick up a full schedule at the Library.

  9. Talking About Books Book Club-NEW NIGHT!

    It’s our 24th year, and we are still Talking About Books! Experience the exciting reincarnation this book club! TAB will be meeting at 7:00 pm on the second Wednesday of every month in the Rotary room, and the discussion will now be led by librarian, Nina Wagner. Everyone welcome! Feel free to come to all the meetings, or to discuss whichever titles interest you.

    This program will be a demonstration of how to download titles available for e-Reader users using Overdrive and The Wisconsin Digital Library.

    Registration Required. Basic keyboard and mouse skills are necessary for all Internet Classes. This class is designed for those who have never used the Internet before. You will learn some Internet terms, how to move around on the Internet, and how to type Internet addresses. It is RECOMMENDED that beginners attend “Introduction to the Internet 1” before attending any the other Internet classes

    In 1844 Jacob Best and his four sons came from Mettenheim, Germany and established a brewery to provide good lager beer for the burgeoning German population of pioneer Milwaukee. This is the story of the city, the brewery and the fascinating people who built them. Presented by Dan Emmer, Pabst volunteer.

    Registration Required. Basic keyboard and mouse skills are necessary for all Internet Classes. This class provides suggestions for more effective searching. Prior knowledge of the Internet or attendance at “Introduction to the Internet 1” is recommended to get the most out of this class. The emphasis will be on search strategy and the appropriate use of different search engines and databases.
