  1. Fitness for the Rest of Us

    Elaine Gonya, a Licensed Athletic Trainer with Aurora Sports Medicine Institute, will discuss simple, practical approaches to fitness and wellness that will benefit everyone, especially those with physical or orthopaedic challenges. Sample exercises, including those that may be performed while seated, will be demonstrated.

    Twice a month, our librarians will teach you something about Internet resources or online databases on a particular topic. We will meet the first Saturday of the month at 10:00am and then in the evening during the week later in the month. Pick up a full schedule at the Library.

  11. Alicia, My Story

    Historical reenactor Betsey Means presents the true story of Alicia Appleman-Jurman. While fleeing the Nazis through war-ravaged Poland, Alicia began saving the lives of people she did not know. Her family cruelly wrenched from her, she rescued other Jews from the Gestapo, led them to safe hideouts, and lent them her courage and hope. Open to ages 12 and up.

    Grab the kids’ smocks and roll up your sleeves! Artists of all ages will delight in the Free Family Art Workshops offered at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts (Wilson Center). Experiment with a variety of media on Saturday, April 11 and May 9, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Wilson Center’s Edrie Martin Page Art Studio. Families are encouraged to register in advance at www.wilson-center.com/family-workshop-form or by calling Visual Arts Manager Robin Luther at (262) 373-5023. All skill levels are welcome and supplies are included for each Free Family Art Workshop.
