  8. Worlds of Fantasy and Science Fiction Philosophical Themes

    Quite a few of the great writers in speculative fiction (i.e. Fantasy and Science Fiction) not only developed entire imaginary worlds or universes, but also drew upon key ideas of metaphysics and moral philosophy as they developed them. This series examines 20th and 21st century writers including H.P. Lovecraft, Frank Herbert, Isaac Asimov, Ursula K. LeGuin, Phillip K. Dick, and George R.R. Martin, focusing on the philosophical underpinnings of the worlds they developed in their works. Led by Greg Sadler, PhD.
