APRIL 7 ELECTION - HOW AND WHERE TO VOTE IN THE CITY OF BROOKFIELD

Vote Button

An Important message from Mayor Steve Ponto concerning voting options for the Spring Election.   The Brookfield Conference Center will be the only voting location in the City of Brookfield on Election Day, April 7th. Your usual polling location will NOT be open.

Dear Brookfield Residents –

PLEASE CONSIDER VOTING BY MAIL

To protect your health and the health of others during this coronavirus pandemic, you are urged to vote by mail.  Doing so is very easy.  Just go to myvote.wi.gov and select the “Vote Absentee” button on the grey bar.   Then type in your name and date of birth.  When it finds your record, select the blue tab which reads “Request Absentee Ballot” and follow the step-by-step directions.  In order to vote by mail, you must request a mail ballot by Thursday, April 2, 2020.  Once your request is submitted, the City will mail you a ballot with instructions.  When you have completed your ballot, return it by mailing it in the enclosed self-addressed stamped envelope.  All received ballots remain in their sealed envelopes until Election Day, when they will be opened by poll workers and scanned into the voting machine.

ALTERNATIVE #1    VOTING IN-PERSON ABSENTEE (EARLY VOTING)

If you choose not to vote by mail absentee ballot, you may vote in-person absentee during early voting from March 23 through April 3 at City Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  If you are not registered to vote, you may register during in-person absentee (early voting).

ALTERNATIVE # 2    VOTE AT THE BROOKFIELD CONFERENCE CENTER ON ELECTION DAY, APRIL 7, 2020

If you choose not to vote by mail absentee ballot, or by in-person absentee early voting, you may vote on Election Day, April 7, 2020.  Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, most of our poll workers have been replaced by City staff and volunteers at their request.  Therefore to provide better management due to the number of inexperienced workers and insufficient numbers, all polling locations will consolidate at the Brookfield Conference Center – located just south of Brookfield Square Mall at 325 South Moorland Road.

The Brookfield Conference Center will be the only voting location in the City of Brookfield on Election Day, April 7th.  Your usual polling location will NOT be open.

Conference Center Rendering 6-15-2018

Safe distancing protocols (6 feet social distancing) will be in force both for voting in-person absentee (early voting) at City Hall and for voting at the Brookfield Conference Center on Election Day, April 7, 2020.  On Election day, each voter will be given a new pen to use during voting and then to keep when they leave the voting area.  The Brookfield Conference Center has restroom facilities for hand washing after voting.  If you have gloves and/or mask at home, feel free to wear them to the polls on Election Day as we have not been able to secure a sufficient number of these items since suppliers are reserving their stock for medical and hospital use.

Follow health care guidelines and stay well.
