Can we take appliances to the Recycling Center?
Yes, The Brookfield Recycling Center is now a drop off for freon and non-freon appliances for all Waukesha County residents. Appliances permitted include: dryers/washers, dishwashers, microwaves, ovens/ranges, residential furnaces, water softeners, dehumidifiers, freezers, refrigerators, room or central air conditioners. Doors from refrigerators and freezers must be removed before dropping them off.
Appliance disposal is also handled by Advanced Disposal for a fee of $15 for non-freon appliances and $25 for a freon appliance. Call 262-367-6040 to arrange pickup. Or you can contact any scrap dealer and check if they will pay you for the scrap value of the metal brought in to them. Not all appliances are accepted at all scrap yards so contact the individual businesses. Check your Yellow Pages under “Recycling Centers”, and “Scrap Metals”.
