Police Records
Services
The Records Section consists of 13 full-time clerks
providing 24 hour coverage who are responsible for the daily central records
and data processing. They primarily utilize an electronic information
database for recording incident and criminal activity and are responsible for
transcribing and/or capturing information from the thousands of records that
are generated by members of the Department annually. These include incident
reports, accident reports, citations and warnings, and other contacts that
are made by members of the Operations Bureau. Members of the Records Section
are also responsible for the storage and retrieval of this information as
well as operating the Department of Justice Transaction Information for
Management of Enforcement (TIME) System.
