The Brookfield Public Library provides a wide variety of materials, services and programs for people of all ages.
In 2008 the Library circulated 706,156 items; answered 97,500 reference questions; had 313,207 visitors; and, presented 451 children’s programs with 19,204 participants and 221 adult programs with 3,706 attendees.
The Library is a member of the Waukesha County Federated Library System as well as of the CAFE shared automation consortium. This provides library users with access to about 600,000 titles and 1.5 million items. A "universal" library card serves as the key to checking out these items at 14 of the 16 public libraries in the County.
