All Activities will take place on Thursday, July 4, 2013.
In the interest of public safety and fairness, the Independence Day Activities Committee is requesting that parade spectators refrain from obstructing or attempting to reserve any public right of way area (e.g. sidewalks, curb areas, medians) by placing chairs, blankets, tape, rope, tents, or any other item along the parade route before 7:00 PM the night before the July 4th parade. In addition, the placement of large and over-sized items that could potentially obstruct the view of other parade spectators is strongly discouraged. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
The annual city-wide Ice Cream Social will take place on the Civic Plaza immediately following the parade. Ice cream and lemonade will be available.
Family Fest takes place at Mitchell Park from 6:00-9:00 PM. This annual pre-fireworks event features family-oriented games and activities, food, and entertainment. The main stage entertainment will be Our House. Children stage entertainment will include Truly Remarkable Loon, a renowned juggling entertainer and Glen Gerard, a talented and entertaining magician. You are encouraged to come out to the park early to picnic, enjoy the activities and music, and then stay for the fireworks. There is no rain date for Family Fest.
The annual fireworks display will begin at approximately 9:15 PM on July 4, 2013 at Mitchell Park. Arriving early for the best parking opportunities is strongly encouraged
