Rules Concerning Your Dog All dogs must be licensed after reaching the age of 5 months according to the State of Wisconsin. To obtain a license, the owner must bring in the dog's proof of rabies vaccination to the City Hall information desk. License fees are $10.00 for neutered/spayed dogs and $15.00 for unaltered dogs. Cats do not need to be licensed. Licenses must be purchased by March 31 each year to avoid a $5.00 late fee. New residents or newly acquired dogs will not be charged a late fee.
There are ordinances in the City of Brookfield that do not permit dogs and cats to be at large. Animals must always be under the control of the owner or leashed. Pet owners are reminded that they must pick up after their pets.
