Fire Chief's Message

Welcome to the City of Brookfield Fire Department website. The City of Brookfield is located 10 miles west of Downtown Milwaukee along Interstate 94. Brookfield enjoys a balanced mix of quality residential neighborhoods, modern commercial and office districts, an interconnected system of parks, greenways, trails and access to excellent education. The City has a resident population of about 41,000 people however given Brookfield’s commercial and business centers, the daytime population swells to an estimated 55,000. The City of Brookfield holds the third highest equalized property valuation in the State of Wisconsin.

The fire department is an all-hazards fire and emergency medical service (EMS) department operating from three fire stations positioned along the Calhoun Road corridor. The department operates two fire engines, one ladder truck, three paramedic ambulances and a command vehicle staffed with an operational deputy chief. The department has 58 sworn responders who provide emergency operations, fire prevention, hazardous material response, public education and technical rescue. Two support personnel provide administrative and public education functions. The Department holds an Insurance Service Office (ISO) rating of two.

City of Brookfield Fire Department responders are highly trained and extremely motivated and focus on our core mission, the “Preservation of life and property through comprehensive education, prevention and emergency intervention.” The department is committed to continuing our long-standing history of providing excellent care, service and related quality programs to the community.
