Formation
The Community Development Authority of the City of Brookfield (CDA) was formed by ordinance of the Brookfield Common Council in October 2001 to address future development and redevelopment issues within the City.
Responsibilities
The CDA is charged with developing strategies to implement redevelopment initiatives established by the Council. The Common Council will maintain direct control over the general activities of the CDA.
The CDA must first obtain approval from the Plan Commission and Common Council regarding the implementation of all elements contained within redevelopment plans, including Council approval of financing, prior to the initiation of any redevelopment activities.
