Bishop's Woods Neighborhood Plan

Overview

The Bishop’s Woods neighborhood area will continue to support high-quality employment institutions through exceptional aesthetic, zoning, and ecological design standards. The node will create opportunities for development and redevelopment that allow for a variety of land uses that service one another at the neighborhood level. The node shall address additional options for circulation within the neighborhood alongside connections with surrounding networks through solutions that create multiple modes of transportation. The wooded environment remains an important feature.

The main elements of the neighborhood vision reposition the Bishop’s Woods business park from a sprawling, suburban campus style development pattern into a walkable suburban community with emphasis on supporting high quality centers of employment built from green neighborhood & architectural design. These primary elements include a variety of land uses, fully integrated pedestrian and bicycle access of properties and nearby networks, preservation of trees and greenspace, outdoor recreation and amenities, and contemporary ecological building materials and development standards

The implementation of this plan will be incremental. Development and redevelopment of properties will be privately initiated. Local businesses are recommended for this area. Smaller footprint regional and national “chains” that wish to locate in Bishop's Woods shall be designed to reflect the character of the neighborhood.
