The City's contractor, Advanced Disposal Services, will deliver one blue recycling can (32-gallon) to all residential properties (except for apartments with five or more units in a building and those currently using dumpsters) for use in recycling. These will be delivered to each property in mid-January at the driveway with instructions and a sticker inside for recycling. Please affix the sticker to your container as an aid to remind you about what is recyclable. We hope this will increase the amount of waste that is diverted from landfills and is recycled. The City recently entered into a new contract with ADS that provides reduced costs as residents recycle more. So it is true, the more we recycle, the more we save. You can continue to use the blue bin (18 gallon) for recycling too along with the new can. If you do not want your blue bin anymore, please drop it off at the City's Recycle Center for reuse by others or to be recycled itself. Click below to see a sample of the Sticker and Instructions.
Do's and Don'ts with regard to your new recycling container
Do:
Know that the City is leasing the recycling container provided to you from the contractor and it is not owned by the City or the resident.
Call Advanced Disposal Services (ADS) at 262-367-6040 for container concerns or if your container is defective.
Use the container for recycling as additional items are now recyclable that were not previously.
Don't::
Don't take recycling container with you if you move. The City is leasing the cans from the contractor for each address.
Don't use for ashes or abuse the container. Replacement containers will be an additional cost.
