Waukesha County Health Department
On January 20, 2021, the State of Wisconsin announced that older adults (those 65 years old and older) will become eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination effective Monday, January 25, 2021.
However, this news does not mean that you will receive your vaccine immediately. It will likely be several weeks before most people in this group can be vaccinated.
Things to know:
- While you may be eligible for vaccination on January 25th, you will have to wait for your pharmacy or healthcare provider to be ready to administer vaccination. Because the State has opened the vaccine to a large percentage of Wisconsin residents (65 years of age and older) there will be high demand for the limited supply of vaccine that is available.
- Most people will get a vaccine from their usual healthcare provider or pharmacy. Residents 65+ who have a primary care physician will be contacted by their health care provider to make an appointment.
Until that time, we ask that you please do not contact your health care provider or Waukesha County Public Health directly.
- At this time, Waukesha County Public Health is not providing vaccinations to the public.
