Because of the freezing rain and continued icy conditions, drivers are reporting most driveways are still icy; so GFL is pulling their crews for the day since they would not be able to collect most properties today because of icy driveways. By pulling the crews and collecting the remaining areas tomorrow, this gives property owners a chance to salt their driveways so the collections can be made tomorrow.
This will likely have a cascading affect the rest of the week as well. Property owners should still place their trash out on the normal day of collection and if it is not collected that day, it should be collected the next day (provided the driveway is passable with no ice). GFL says they will work Saturday if necessary to complete the collections this week.
