Open Pickleball Update

pickleball

Dear Pickleball Players,

The Brookfield Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department has been informed of a road construction project this summer that will occur on Sunnyslope Road, including the Mary Knoll Park area. This will also affect the park road leading into the park. Due to the closure of the road from mid June to sometime in August, we will not be able to hold the outdoor open pickleball at Mary Knoll Park. The road will be totally closed to all traffic except local residents.

We know this is disappointing news to many of you. We have secured the gymnasium at Ridgewood Baptist church for the summer months. This is the same site many people play in during most of the year. Unfortunately, another pickleball site is not available outdoors.

We will be offering sessions on Monday mornings, Wednesday mornings, and Wednesday evenings. These slots were chosen based on the facility availability as well as the availability of our volunteers who help to set up, take down, and oversee the day to day operation of the program. We are very thankful for our volunteers!

All of these sessions will be available beginning Saturday May 6th at 8:00 AM for City of Brookfield residents – all others may register beginning Saturday May 13th at 8:00 AM.

If you have not yet set up a new online account for our new registration system, we encourage you to do that soon.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter, have a great summer!
