The City of Brookfield Assessor’s office is completing a city-wide revaluation of property values to be in compliance with state law. The last revaluation was in 2019.
Brookfield continues to see high demand for our residential parcels, with some of the biggest changes in the residential market being new construction and the sale of existing homes, especially ranch style homes. As of 2023, the total valuation for all tax classes of property is over $9 billion.
Assessment notices are scheduled to be mailed out Thursday, August 31. Updated values are now available on the City website: https://www.ci.brookfield.wi.us/210/Assessor
For questions about the updated assessed values, residents should contact the Assessor’s office at 262-796-6649. If residents wish to discuss their assessment in person, office appointments are required (no walk-ins). This gives the Assessor’s staff an opportunity to have the property record card ready and residents can speak to the appraiser assigned to their area.
The Assessor’s office will be available for the open book period from Tuesday, September 5 to Friday, September 22. The first meeting of the Board of Review is Tuesday, October 3.
