[ARCHIVED] Railroad to close Brookfield Road for crossing maintenance week of June 24, weather permitting

People who use the Recycle Center regularly need to enter from and leave to the south, since the road will be closed at the tracks. Advanced signage will be placed to inform the public.

Please be aware that the Fox River is rising and flooding River Road. This will require the Highway division to close River Road at Barker and Brookfield Road. With the railroad company repairing the tracks and crossing this week at Brookfield Road, northbound traffic on Brookfield Road was detoured from Brookfield Road west to Barker and then north to River Road and east back to Brookfield Road. Needless to say, that will not be possible with the road going under water. The detour will be extended on Barker Road north to Capitol Drive and then back to Brookfield Road until the road flooding subsides or until the railroad company completes their work, whichever comes sooner.
