The City recruits for the position of Paramedic/Firefighter/Equipment Operator (PFE) when it anticipates the need to fill vacancies. The current minimum qualifications for the position are a valid Wisconsin or International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) certification as a Firefighter II. Completion of hazardous material operations training. A valid Wisconsin license as an Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (EMT-P). A Wisconsin Technical College Driver Operator Pumper training completion or certification. A valid driver’s license. The availability to work a 24 hour, rotational shift.
The selection procedure typically consists of a written examination and oral panel interview. After this process has been completed, pursuant to City of Brookfield Police and Fire Commission Rules, successful candidates are placed on an eligibility list in rank order for hiring interview consideration.
